And it's fitting, because the SeaCoast Inn in Hyannis recently topped TripAdvisor's newly announced Top 10 Hidden Hotel Havens. This family-owned inn also made the 2008 Traveler's Choice list for Best Hidden Gem and Best Bargain (the average price per night is around $98 - a bah-gain if you ask me!). Millenium Park Ice Sculptures

For the entire month of February, Millenium Park will be graced with amazing ice sculptures to brighten up the winter. A fellow blogger over at Chicago Hot Blog posted about the event, which is part of Millennium Park's Winter Festival. The sculpture will be completed by Canadian artist Gordon Halloran and is part of his "Paintings Below Zero" series. Zora Festival 2008

From January 26 through February 3, The 19th Annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities comes to Eatonville. The festival celebrates African American contributions to American cultural history, inspired by the literary talents and influence of Zora Neale Hurston, a central figure in the Harlem Renaissance. This year's theme is “Ritual and Spirituality in the African Diaspora: An Exploration of the Zora Neale Hurston Legacy.” There will be museum exhibits, panel discussions, artwork of local youth, performances, and workshops. The Hotel del Coronado Marks 200 Years

You may recognize the beautiful building done in Queen Anne architecture from the movie Some Like It Hot, starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, and Tony Curtis. It has also hosted 11 U.S. Presidents, royalty, movie stars, sports stars, and other famous folks. Even if it's a bit too pricey to stay overnight, Mary Jo recommends taking the tour and having lunch or an ice cream sundae in such a beautiful setting.
