After it was such a success at Universal Studios in Orlando, a brand-new ride based off of the hilarious hit Despicable Me has opened up at Universal Studios Hollywood. “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” is a motion simulator ride that is entirely based on the Despicable Me films and it incorporates many of the same characters and jokes that fans have previously seen on the silver screen.
The Go Los Angeles card includes admission to Universal Studios Hollywood and the park’s brand-new Despicable Me attraction. You can visit the park up to three separate times with every three, five and seven-day card! If you take full advantage of that particular value, you’ll probably end up leaving while saying “Despicable Three”.
Riders begin the 3D experience in Gru’s home and join him on a wild ride that ends with everyone becoming an actual Minion – maybe! The attraction brings fans through “Minion training” and features other characters from the films like Margo, Edith and Agnes.
A reviewer from the LA Times found the ride to be a “technically spectacular 3-D attraction to be jam-packed with laugh-out-loud slapstick humor and spine-rattling action in what’s sure to be a crowd-pleasing hit with visitors.”
It might be a good idea to bring your dancing shoes because (SPOILER ALERT!) there’s an interactive Minion-inspired dance party after the ride. The voices that are featured in the ride were performed by the actual actors from Despicable Me and there is also a re-creation of the first film’s memorable seaside carnival in a nearby family play zone.
In Super Silly Fun Land, guests can interact with more than 80 different water-play features that should entertain both young and old. There’s also a dry area with a number of fun and physically-challenging pieces of equipment and the Minion-themed “Silly Swirly Fun Ride.” The area also is home to the “Super Silly Space Killer” arcade game and guests are invited to try their luck to win Minion games prizes or a stuffed unicorn!
The Go Los Angeles Card will get you into 37 Los Angeles attractions for one low price that should save you up to 55 percent off of what you would pay at the gate! Need things to do in Los Angeles? Consider options like the Hollywood Museum, Malibu Movie Star Homes Tour or Six Flags Magic Mountain.
