Scary Halloween for Mom and Dad

Now that October is in full swing, the time to start thinking forward to what you and your family actually want to do on Halloween night is here. To help make that decision easier, there’s \a list of the best cities to go and grab tasty treats (or play good-natured tricks). This year’s list of the top 20 cities in the United States to go trick-or-treating features a number of cities that you can easily visit with Go Select Passes and Go City Cards from Smart Destinations.

First on the list of the top places in the country for trick or treaters in search of the most candy on the safest streets is San Francisco. San Fran has walked away with the title for the third year in a row and Noe Valley — a residential, family-filled neighborhood in central San Francisco — was named the as the best local spot for Halloween, followed by Sea Cliff, Cow Hollow, Presidio Heights, and Glen Park.

Coming in at No. 2 on the list is Boston. According to the index, the top neighborhood for trick-or-treating in the Hub is West Roxbury, followed by the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Charlestown, and the North End. If you are going to hit the bricks in Beantown to go candy-collecting, check out what else you and your family can do in town with the Boston Family FunPass.

There’s also always the Salem Haunted Happenings festival to consider.  With events at extremely spooky destinations like the House of Seven Gables and the Salem Witch Museum, it’s definitely worth considering grabbing a Go Boston Card and heading north!
