It might be located on the water, but the holiday celebration at Fisherman’s Wharf is San Francisco is called from “Tree to Shining Tree” (sorry sea). The festivities for the Tree to Shining Tree Tour started last month, and the 2013 edition of the annual attraction is now in full swing. This San Francisco Attraction give visitors the chance to stroll the wharf while taking in two decorated Christmas Trees, Dickens Carolers, elves, a plethora of lights and, of course, the big guy…Santa. The Tree to Shining Tree Tour also gives guests a variety of shopping experiences that are unique to the wharf and a seemingly endless supply of tasty restaurants.

To simplify things, here’s a quick “Top 11” list (because Top 10 is just so boring) of sites that you have to see if you head down to the Wharf for this seasonal San Francisco Attraction: 1. Ghirardelli Square, 2. The Cannery, 3. Conrad Park, 4. Anchorage Square 5. Sport Fishing Boats, 6. The Crab, 7. Boudin, 8. Wax, 9. Taylor, 10. Northpoint Centre and 11. PIER 39.

In addition to the ongoing Holiday Lights on Fisherman’s Wharf, there is a Lighted Boat Parade planned for Dec. 13 at 5:30 PM. The oldest and largest aquatic holiday celebration in San Fran, the Lighted Boat Parade features more than 60 lit and decorated boats sailing along the edge of the city.

View of Golden Gate BridgeFeaturing members of the St. Francis Yacht Club, Golden Gate Yacht Club, Fisherman’s Wharf Fishing Fleet, Sea Scouts and PIER 39 Marina, the Lighted Boat Parade has been a proud holiday tradition since 1994. Although it’s possible to see the parade from a number of locations (including the Marina Green, and Crissy Field) the best vantage point is from Aquatic Park.

If the parade isn’t enough to give you your waterfront fix this holiday season, the Golden Gate Bay Cruise is another stellar San Francisco Attraction to consider this winter.
