Inside Madame Tussauds Los Angeles

Madame Tussauds, known today as a world-wide chain of tourist attractions devoted to celebrity figures in wax form, has origins in Europe that extend as far back as the late 18th century. Marie Tussaud, the original wax sculptor from whom the museum takes its name to this day, created her first full wax figure in 1777. It was a replica of Voltaire.

While you probably won’t find any 18th century philosophers at Madame Tussauds Los Angeles, the Hollywood location is the top spot to see amazingly life-like replicas of movie stars and pop icons. With Madame Tussauds Los Angeles Discount Tickets, snapshots of you with your favorite celebrities are an affordable and unforgettable souvenir to bring home from your Los Angeles excursion.

So what’s inside Madame Tussauds Los Angeles? First, you’ll be given the chance to make a red carpet arrival. Your red carpet experience will feel extra authentic when you reach Joan Rivers with microphone in hand, asking about your outfit. Once you stave off the paparazzi, your journey into fun and fame begins.

The museum is divided into several galleries, each with its own distinct theme. These include A-List Arrival, Spirit of Hollywood, Westerns, Crime, Modern Classics, Making Movies, Sports, and Action Heroes. As you can see, you’ll be mingling with an array of Hollywood stars and notorious characters of the past and present.

The Madame Tussauds Los Angeles classic wax collection features Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Johnny Depp, Beyonce, Judy Garland as Dorothy (from The Wizard of Oz), Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle (of Dirty Dancing), and over a hundred others.

Never to be content with its collection, Madame Tussauds is always adding figures to the exhibit halls. In fact, the Museum announced that in 2014 they would launch 12 new figures in 12 months. The newest arrival is none other than Twilight star Taylor Lautner, a heartthrob of the teen and tween crowd. Other new figures from earlier this year include the likes of former “Sexist Man Alive” Ryan Reynolds (voted in by Facebook fans of the attraction), young Disney-star-turned-pop-sensation Selena Gomez, Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock in Academy Awards attire, and the classy Les Miserables star, Anne Hathaway.

Later this summer, Madame Tussauds Los Angeles is welcoming an all new exhibit that takes on a fourth dimension. The Marvel Superheroes 4D film experience combines life-like wax figures of Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine and Spiderman with an immersive cinema adventure complete with high impact special effects. You’ll feel the wind blowing and earth quaking as you join a team of super heroes on a mission to defeat one of Marvel’s most infamous villains.
