When the NCAA March Madness tournament kicks off on March 18 and 19 at the UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio, you are going to want to have your bracket filled out and at the ready (possibly even laminated to prevent it from being ruined by spillage). Although we won’t know who is playing where until Selection Sunday on March 16, it’s a pretty safe bet that top teams like Wichita State, Duke, Florida, Villanova, Louisville, Virginia, Michigan and Arizona will all have high seeds and almost certainly advance to the second round – maybe even the third.
Thankfully, we do know where those are going to be played. The second and third round games of the 2014 NCAA men’s basketball tournament will be held on March 20 and 22 at the Amway Center in Florida and on March 21 and 23 at the Viejas Arena in San Diego.
If you plan on trying to attend games at either one of those locations, consider purchasing either an Orlando Attractions Pass or San Diego Attractions Pass to see some other things around the respective cities while you are in town.
Some other things you may want to consider:
– Order team hats, t-shirts and other paraphernalia online before departing to support your squad. If you want until you arrive at the venue, you will only end up paying more money for lower-quality items.
– Check and see if the school or university is offering any sort of group travel package and travel with some like-minded fans. Birds of a feather…
– On March 21 and 22, the Atlanta Braves are playing spring training games against the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox if you need a break from basketball.
– In San Diego, the world-famous San Diego Zoo is open and waiting for you to visit.
Another area many people might be heading to in order to catch some of the tournament is New York City. The East Regional finals will take place at MadisonSquareGarden on March 28 and 30 in the Big Apple and some of the best games of the tournament could be played on those two days. For those who are going to attend, the New York Attractions Pass is an excellent complement to your MSG tickets.
Check out some of the top sights in NYC like the Top of the Rock, the American Museum of Natural History and Ripley’s Believe it or Not. When you aren’t at those attractions (or at the game) take a trip on Gotham’s famous subway system, stroll through Central Park or grab a slice of piping-hot New York City pizza!
Wherever you end up going – good luck with your bracket and enjoy the Madness! To view all the top New York Attractions for adults, kids and people of all ages, check out Smart Destinations’ New York Explorer Pass and Go Select New York Pass!
