Miami Spa Month

Is there a better way to complement the perfect beach vacation than a day at the spa? There isn’t one, says the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (and I agree!). To encourage locals and visitors alike to indulge their senses and experience the true luxury of Miami, the city will be once again hosting the fabulous Miami Spa Month! Indulge in everything from world-class massages to mani-pedis and hair treatments at any one of the participating spas for special low prices. If you’re looking for adult-friendly Miami attractions, Miami Spa Month is the perfect solution.

The sixth annual Miami Spa Month will be held from July 1 through August 31, 2013 (so, TWO months of spa delights, in fact), with nearly 40 luxury spas from South Beach to Coral Gables participating in the promotion. If you’re spending any time in Miami this summer, you absolutely cannot miss this rare chance to enjoy luxury treats at some of the country’s best spas for affordable prices. And don’t worry about being left out of all the fun, men, spas offer manicures and other spa treatments just for the guys.

Many of the participating spas are located in the luxurious Miami Beach section of the city. With its strengths in golf courses, top tier hotels, white-hot beaches, and premier shopping, Miami Beach is the perfect place to indulge in Miami. Here’s a selection of a few of the participating spas in the Miami Beach area:

Miami attractions

Bliss Spa

The Wellness Garden & Spa (1440 Ocean Drive)

Bliss South Beach (2201 Collins Avenue)

Lapis Spa (4441 Collins Avenue)

Spa V (1144 Ocean Drive)

Many of these spas are located in a hotel, but you don’t need to be a guest to enjoy their services. Do a little research on yelp before you go, so you’re sure to pick the spa that suits you the best. It’s also vital to make an appointment ahead of time. Spa services in Miami Beach are always in high demand, and with this special promotion going on, you’re likely to find yourself out of luck if you try to show up for a walk-in. Here’s the full list of participating spas.

Whether you’re staying in one of these luxury hotels, or just spending some quality time with their top-notch spa facilities, you’ll be looking for other things to do on Miami Beach when the primping is through. If you want to do a bit of sightseeing, consider these nearby Miami attractions:

The World Erotic Art Museum – The perfect complement for an adults-only afternoon. Peruse this tasteful display of erotic art and see how artists across history have captured the beauty and sensuality of the human form through sculpture, painting, and more. Between your massage and these pieces of art, you’ll have a whole new appreciation for the human body.

Miami Duck Tour – After spending a relaxing hour or two at the spa, enjoy a carefree tour of Miami. There’s plenty of beautiful scenery, attractions, and people to soak up along the way. Snap photos of the highlights and work on your tan as you let the duck do all the work.

Art Deco Miami Tours – If you do feel up for a bit of activity after your R&R at the spa, take one of Miami’s famous Art Deco walking tours, the only tour in the city (and practically the country!) that highlights the glitz and glamour of the architecture of the 1930s and 40s. South Beach does, after all, have the largest concentration of genuine Art Deco buildings in the world.

Picture yourself in a world of relaxation…

Of course, there are plenty of exciting Miami attractions outside of Miami Beach, too. If you’re looking to continue a fun, adults-only vacation, consider paying a visit to some of these fine attractions:

Island Queen Miami – A luxury cruise of celebrity homes and famous beaches along the bejeweled Millionaire’s Row, a ride aboard this ship will help you hold on to that feeling of perfect relaxation. This ship departs from a pier in Downtown Miami, just across the bridge from Miami Beach.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens – Continue to arouse your senses with the lush subtropical forests and exotic flowers that populate the extensive gardens, and feed your artistic spirit inside the museum with a breathtaking collection of treasures from around the world.
