South Beach is one of the hottest places to visit during the months of June, July and August because of all the sizzling Miami events that take place during the summer. During summer 2014, there are plenty of Miami Attractions that should pique your interest or capture the interest of your children.
Beginning on June 9, the 2014 Kid’s World Summer Camp at the Miami Children’s Museum will open up shop. The 11-week program, which runs until August 22, gives kids a chance to learn and experience cultures from around the world through music, dance, storytelling, art and cuisine. The camp might not be a great fit for vacationers, but if you are going to be visiting the city for an extended period of time with you kids, it certainly is an enticing option for you and them.
Planning to visit Miami during Father’s Day weekend? Then the Father’s Day Bash at Jungle Island could be the ticket. During the Sunday festivities Dad will get some of the things he loves best – including free beer tastings, live classic rock performances, food trucks and classic cars – and all fathers get in for free. Miami’s GameTime Arcade will also provide an onsite Man Cave with games like billiards, basketball and air hockey. As an added bonus, visitors at Jungle Island can earn prizes throughout the day as well try to hook giveaways from the Miami Marlins.
On Impendence Day at Jungle Island, you can come by to dine on some killer barbeque and listen to some of the grooviest country music in Florida. The family-themed event will feature live performances by Craig Campbell and Casey James and food from up to 10 of the most delicious BBQ restaurants in Miami. The event will also incorporate some of the more standard Jungle Island attractions like animals shows featuring tigers and birds. Rumor has it that mechanical bull rides will also be involved.
A little earlier in the summer, the Miami Disco Fever Concert will be coming to the Bank United Center on June 28 to raise money for charity. As the preeminent summer party in South Beach, the Miami Disco Fever Concert encourages attendees to lace up their boogie shoes, do up their real high and journey back to the era of Studio 54. A timeless event that ‘70s enthusiasts won’t want to miss, the Miami Disco Fever Concert is an event you should feel good about attending – for reasons other than the music – because it’s for charity!
