For the 4 millionth time, someone made a visit to a top sight using a Go City Card (or Explorer Pass). These products let people take in the best tours, museums, and attractions. This particular visit was made at the San Diego Zoo using a Go San Diego Card.
“Most people still stand in line and pay whatever price they are charging at the ticket windows when they go on vacation,” said Cecilia Dahl, founder and President of Smart Destinations. “We’re starting to change that. Having 4 million visits where people saved money and time as well is great forward progress.”
To further accelerate the rate of change around how travelers visit museums, tours, and attractions, Smart Destinations recently launched the Custom Explorer Pass across most of its 14 destinations — including San Diego with the San Diego Custom Explorer Pass. This capability allows customers to choose exactly what attractions they want to do and see, have them built into a custom pass that costs less than buying separate tickets, and then works as an admission ticket to everything they selected.
“The Internet has dramatically expanded the possibilities around personalization and customization generally. By combining those capabilities with our existing ticketing platform, we’ve been able to extend it into travel,” Dahl said. “Consumers that have become more and more accustomed to a ‘have it your way model’ now finally have the option for what they see and do on vacation.”
For travellers to San Diego, the Go San Diego Card and the Custom Explorer Pass both allow them to pay one price to get admission to all the key sights, including the Zoo, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, the U.S.S. Midway, the aquarium, and 45 other tours and sights. And all for less than the price of buying tickets directly at each attraction.
