If you’re in New England for the Fourth of July, make your way to Beantown for one of everyone’s favorite Boston attractions: The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. This festive musical production, featuring the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Boston Pops, makes for a completely one-of-a-kind Fourth of July experience. Now in its 40th year, the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular is an annual free outdoor concert held at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Esplanade, along the Charles River. One traditional highlight of the performance is the Pops’ Independence Day rendition of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, featuring real cannons, the live ringing of area church bells, and fireworks.
