Since it was founded almost 100 years ago in 1923, the Museum of the City of New York has been helping visitors connect the dots between the past, present, and future of NYC. Located at 1220 Fifth Avenue and 103rd Street in Upper Manhattan, the museum and museum store are open seven days a week from 10:00 am–6:00 pm. After moving from its first location at Gracie Mansion - the future residence of the Mayor of New York – to its current Fifth Ave location, the museum acquired treasures like Eugene O’Neill’s handwritten manuscripts, Duncan Phyfe furniture, a suit that was worn to George Washington’s Inaugural Ball and a Carrie Walter Stettheimer dollhouse containing a Marcel Duchamp miniature.
