Now that summer is over, it’s back to school for children all across the U.S. Although not all kids are huge fans of back-to-school season, most students are at least pleased with some of the activities that come along with the return to the classroom, with field trips often topping the list. Students in Southern California really luck out because there are litanies of Los Angeles Attractions that are great places to visit on school trips. Green Tourism in Southern California

For years, Santa Monica has been well ahead of the gang in the "green" movement, implementing sustainable practices across the board, from local food initiatives to eco-friendly architectural design. Now, the beloved beach community is taking another step in the green direction by implementing a ban on plastic shopping bags that went into effect on March 7th. Under the new law, supermarkets, convenience stores, liquor stores, and pharmacies are all prohibited from handing out single-use plastic bags. However, recyclable paper bags will be sold for 10 cents apiece, so there's no need to panic if you forget to bring your re-useable bags. This February 18th and 19th, come celebrate the annual migration of the Pacific gray whale with a wide variety of whale-related activities at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. This event celebrates the annual migration - the longest migration, in fact, of any species - of the Pacific gray whale, which travels 10,000 to 14,000 miles round trip all the way from the arctic seas to the warm waters of California and Mexico.
