SeaWorld San Diego Announces New Manta Coaster!

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a Manta Ray? What you'd get to see, what it would feel like to soar through the ocean on those giant wings? SeaWorld San Diego is going to give you a chance to experience all that and more starting May 26 with its new Manta Coaster! Like the name suggests, the inspiration for the ride is the Manta Ray. The largest species of ray in the world. Typically, the Manta ray's you'll see at in the wild are a whopping 22 feet wide and weigh about 3000 pounds. The Manta Coaster, on the other hand, has a 54-foot drop, and will take riders at a top speed of 43 miles per hour through both sky and sea, with the coaster whizzing through underwater habitats and actually skimming the surface of the water alongside the ride.
