On the spiraling ramp that runs along the New England Aquarium's 4-story Giant Ocean Tank, children and adults alike press their noses against the glass for face-to-face encounters with sea turtles, barracudas, sharks, and hundreds of colorful reef fish. The NEAq's staple feature, the 200,000-gallon tank that houses the Caribbean coral reef exhibit, is the centerpiece of the building—in fact, the rest of the Aquarium was built around it. Inside the tank lives Myrtle the Green Sea Turtle, an Aquarium resident since 1970. Myrtle is a longtime favorite among visitors, and she's the star of the Giant Ocean Tank exhibit.
