Your teenager might not want to go to a lot of places, but it’s a pretty safe bet that Miami isn’t one of them. There are so many things to do in Miami, it’s not hard to find something they can get excited about.
We put together a list of a few things to do in Miami for teens that will be fun, memorable, and even educational. For discounts on select attractions, be sure to check out the Go Miami Card®.
Go on an Airboat Ride
Explore Florida’s unique Everglade terrain as you skim across grassy waters and get up close to native wildlife like the Florida Alligator at Sawgrass Recreation Park Everglades Airboat Adventures.
Visitors can hold a baby alligator, feed and interact with animals at Swampyard Island, and check out the Exotic Wildlife exhibit that features a new variety of wildlife brought in by Predators Unlimited each day.
For a slightly different experience, explore the terrain and wildlife a little further south on an airboat tour in Gator Park and catch one of their wildlife shows. Visitors will see lots of wildlife, including Florida gators, large birds, fish, and even various venomous snakes!
Make a day of it and get round-trip transportation from downtown Miami on a 5-hour airboat excursion. Or, visit South Florida’s oldest alligator farm and take a ride on the waters to see the wildlife in their natural habitat.
Get up close to fascinating sea life, catch an entertaining show where dolphins “walk on water” and killer whales soar through the air, and learn about all things wildlife, including rehabilitation and rescue missions at the Miami Seaquarium, a 38-acre tropical paradise in Biscayne Bay.
Fun Spot America
Most teenagers can’t drive cars yet, but at Fun Spot America they can get behind the wheel and cruise one of the park’s four Go-Kart tracks. Let your teens begin at the Cadet Track and start working their way up to next level at the Commander, a 600-foot long course with a high point of eight feet and a surprisingly steep 30 degree slope.
Experienced drivers will want to tackle Blue Conquest Track or the Thrasher. Fun Spot America is also full of attractions like Bumper Boats, Bumper Cars, and an over-sized Ferris wheel called the Revolver.
Daytona International Speedway Tour
Experience Miami’s enthusiasm for all things car related firsthand by going on a tour of one of the most famous racing tracks in the country, the Daytona International Speedway Tour.
The privately guided tour takes visitors through all of the historic areas that make up the site of the Daytona 500 and places that race fans will recognize from TV like the Drivers Meeting Room, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garages, and Gatorade Victory Lane.
If you’re lucky, they’ll be testing cars and revving engines during your visit!
Get blown away by 71-mph hurricane force winds, get shaken by a simulated 5.3-degree earthquake, put yourself inside a bubble, and lay on a bed of 3,500 nails (if you dare) at WonderWorks in Orlando.
Visitors can also take their turn on the 4D Extreme Motion ride and try their hand at the 36-foot tall indoor rope course challenge.
