Things to Do in Miami on Valentine’s Day

Miami has plenty of things to do on Valentine’s Day this year. So many, in fact, that you may have a tough time picking just one. I’ve put together a list of my favorite events in the area to help you decide before the deadline this Thursday:

Dining with Dolphins at the Seaquarium

If you’re looking to impress an animal lover, treat your date to a night with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium. From 8-10 PM this Thursday, the Seaquarium will keep its doors open for couples to enjoy a candlelit dinner overlooking the Dolphin Harbor. Here’s a look at the menu from the Seaquarium’s website:

1st Course
Share a Valentine’s Day Dinner for two and bottle of wine
on the terrace overlooking our playful dolphins.
2nd Course
Two certificates to come back and swim with our dolphins.
3rd Course
Two certificates to experience our new Sea Trek Reef Encounter.
Two Annual Passes good for free park Admission the rest of the year!
The experience is a great deal at just under $200 per person. You can make reservations by calling the Seaquarium directly. Don’t wait – space is understandably limited.

Second Annual Love in the Park

Popular grocery chain Publix is hosting its second annual Love in the Park Event from 5:30 – 10 PM in nearby Ft. Lauderdale complete with wine and live music. Couples are invited to bring picnic blankets or opt for the VIP lounge with tables and chairs to enjoy a variety of foods from Publix Aprons’ top chefs. Each couple will also be treated to a wine tasting and a bottle to accompany their meal.

General admission tickets are $40 a person, while VIP tickets are $63. A portion of ticket costs will benefit Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, a nonprofit benefiting the Riverwalk Park and Downtown community of Fort Lauderdale.

Live Concert at the Deering Estate

This live jazz concert at former residence of Charles Deering, a prominent businessman and philanthropist of the late 19th century.  The three floor stone mansion’s expansive lawn will host two jazz performers, opener Ariel Pocock and world-class singer, guitarist, and songwriter Allan Harris.

Admission to this event is just $20 per person, making it a steal in a city that is not always so budget-friendly. Couples are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic basket to enjoy during the 7 PM performance. Afterwards, end the night with one of the most popular things to do in Miami – a stroll along the beach.
