Things to do in Orlando 4th of July

Florida and the summer sun go together about as well as peas and carrots. It’s no surprise that many people find themselves heading south for vacation once the weather starts heating up. If you are considering a Florida vacation, think about putting a 4th of July trip to Orlando on the calendar. There are plenty of Orlando Attractions that the whole family can enjoy while celebrating the holiday.

One of the Orlando Attractions that you might want to visit is Kennedy Space Center. If you do end up going for Independence Day, you’ll have an opportunity to meet Shuttle Astronaut Mike Mullane. Guests of the Kennedy Space Center have the opportunity to come face-to-face with a real astronaut every day of the year during a half-hour, interactive Q&A-oriented program designed to appeal to children and adults Mullane will be appearing at the center from July 1 – 7.

Even if the idea of chatting with Mullane doesn’t make your heart blast off, a visit to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is still a great idea. It’s the only place on Earth where you can tour launch areas, see giant rockets and train in spaceflight simulators. NASA’s headquarters will also start to offer visitors a chance to check out a brand new attraction beginning on June 29. The Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction tells the story of NASA’s 30-year Space Shuttle Program by letting guests tour the historic spacecraft.

For those looking to indulge their wild sides on Independence Day, a trip to Jungle Island Orlando could be just what the doctor ordered. The park was opened in 1936 under the name Parrot Jungle with the idea that it would be a place where birds could “fly free.” Now Jungle Island Orlando is one of the state’s premier entertainment destinations. The park features a jungle full of extraordinary animals from around the globe including rare twin orangutans, the world’s largest cat – the liger – and over 300 vibrant birds. A trip to the Jungle is an Orlando Attraction that’s not to be missed!

For a truly unique way to celebrate the 4th, head to Congo River Adventure Golf Orlando. Congo River has two Orlando locations that give visitors the chance to enjoy a round of golf, play some of the latest arcade games and then cap off their visit with an icy drink. If that’s not enough, guests at to Congo River Adventure Golf Orlando can also enjoy a true Florida adventure at the live gator feeding experience!
