Description

Offering visitors easy access to its towering peaks, Grandfather Mountain is one of the most biologically diverse mountains in the world and is designated by the United Nations as an International Biosphere Reserve.

Look out from the Mile High Swinging Bridge across mountain ridges cascading away in all directions; stand eye-to-eye with bears, otters, cougars, eagles and deer in natural habitats; hike rugged back-country trails or stroll gentle nature paths; eat in our restaurant or take your order out to one of many scenic picnic areas; or interact with our knowledgeable staff and let us help you find your own perfect mountain adventure.

Guided hikes, naturalist programs, and behind-the-scenes tours available by reservation.

Daily: April-May, September-October: 8:00 am-6:00 pm;
June-August: 8:00 am-7:00 pm;
November-March (Weather permitting): 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Driving:

Exit the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 305 at the US 221/Linville exit. Travel one mile south on US 221 to the entrance of Grandfather Mountain. Or travel two miles north from Linville, NC on US 221. 75 miles northeast of Asheville; 17 miles south of Boone; 15 miles south of Blowing Rock.

Redemption Instructions:

Included admission with the Go Blue Ridge Card. Show your Go Blue Ridge Card at either of the drive-up ticket booths. Although Grandfather Mountain may occasionally be open later, the Go Blue Ridge Card is only accepted until 5:30 pm. During all other times, standard admission will apply.

The Go City Card is accepted until 5:30pm unless otherwise noted; during all other times standard admission will apply.
