How it works

What is a Go Boston Card?

A Go Boston Card is an attraction pass that gets you into 51 Boston attractions for one low price.

How does a Go Boston Card Work?
  • Just select how many days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7-Day cards.
  • Your Go Boston Card grants you admission to all 51 attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions between 9:00am and 5:30pm.
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days.
How will I receive my pass?

You can choose to receive your pass:

  • Instantly on your smartphone — the most popular choice. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Instantly print at home — just print it and go. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Physical Card via Mail. Includes a full-color guidebook.
  • Pick it up at one of our in-city pickup locations.
What is the bonus attraction offer?

If you purchase a 3, 5 or 7-Day card, you get admission to one premium bonus attraction on one of the days your card is valid.

Choose from: the Original Boston Duck Tour, Boston Red Sox Ticket with VIP Early Park Access (Select Games), Whale Watch Excursion, or a Gray Line Boston Tours option.

What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guidebook with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row.

If you have a 3-Day card, and you visit your first attraction on a Monday, your card will be valid on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Start your day early to get the most out of your card!

How do I "activate" my card?

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions until 5:30pm with the Go Boston Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

How much will I save?

We’ve made it easy to compare the combined gate prices with the price of the Go Boston Card, to see how much you could save. Try our Savings Calculator!

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go Boston Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go Boston Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go Boston Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go Boston Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to Boston as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Not worth the money for seniors
By Grandma from Long island, NY on
Pros:
None
Cons:
Not worth the price
Best Uses:
None
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

I did not even break even on the price I paid. All attractions had senior prices, which would have cost me less to pay than the price of the Boston card. We even got in free to some attractions because my husband is a veteran. That fact was never mentioned when I purchased the cards.

Boston holiday
By K from ON on
Pros:
Family Of 4, Fenway Park, Beantown Trolley, Aquarium, Tall Ships
Cons:
Tech Museum Closes Early, Check Ticket Pickup Locat, Some restrictions,
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

We spent a great 2 days touring Boston Harbour area. Our Go Boston card allowed us to get on and off the Beantown Trolley while at the same time getting a tour of the city. Had to go to Harbour area to activate our trolley tickets. Enjoyed Tall Ships - need to reserve ahead, and only allowed at certain times with our card. Enjoyed Aquarium - some areas closed early. Went to Tech Museum but it closed early. Enjoyed tour of USS Constitution. Enjoyed tour of Fenway Park. Enjoyed Faneuil Hall and the Quincy Market! Would like more restaurant suggestions and directions.
