We pre booked from home in the UK for use on our fly drive of New England, By carful planing for each day we did a lot more then if we did not have the cards. We made sure that we covered the [$] we paid for each card (2 adults 2 teenagers)in fact we calcued that it would have cost double this amount if we paid for each attraction

I and my sister visited Boston again. This time we did the Go cards. We saved money and had a blast. All I can tell you is Do your research. Call the attractions and ask about the go cards. They'll tell you where to go and what you need to do before you arrive in the city. Lesson learned. We are going One more time next year and We can't wait to use or cards! :) A great idea..

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:
The card can save you money if you plan ahead. Most of the negative comments reflect things that were clear if you just take the time to carefully read all the information on the web site (and the links to the attractions you are interested in) before you buy it. Yes, there are restricted hours and even days where some things aren't open. Do your research before you buy it and prepare a schedule to see if it is worth it. Use the trolley for a sight-seeing tour but buy a weeklong T (public transportation) pass for $15 and use the subway to get from one attraction to another instead of the trolley and you will get to a lot more things a lot easier. I have rarely used public transportation before this and the Boston T is super easy, efficient and safe.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:
I traveled w/ my husband and 2 boys (12 and 15). This pass was wonderful and saved us so much money. I did a lot of planning ahead of time, and concentrated on the more expensive attractions to get max. bang for my buck (final total - $115 in 1-day attractions per adult for $50). Having a plan was key and actually relaxing ... we just had to look at my notes to see what to do next. We saw a lot but also had lots of down time (2 cruises & a nice leisurely lunch), which was nice. There were extended hours at the aquarium & Museum of Science, which we took advantage of. We went back & did the free/less-expensive attractions other days (Swan Boats, Faneuil Hall, Freedom trail, etc.) Here is what we did with the pass: 8:45 - get Harbor Cruise tix for 10:30 sailing 9:00 - enter aquarium 10:10 - leave aquarium for Harbor cruise (this stay was short, but we really enjoyed the big tank and seeing the penguin & shark feedings. A great way to get a feel for the attraction) 10:30 - 11:15 harbor cruise 11:15 - 11:45 walk to Faneuil Hall to get trolly pass 11:45 had lunch reservations at Long Wharf Legal Sea Food. Delicious! approx. 1:00 - Take Trolly back to hotel (stops right across the street from Legal), relax & get car Note: there is a NEW order for the trolly stops. Do not rely on the trolly map on-line. 2:30 head to Cambridgeside Galleria & get tix for 3:15 Charles Riverboat cruise (we drove, since validated parking was only $4) 3:15 - 4:15 Charles River cruise 4:15 Get a bite to eat at the food court Walk over to Museum of Science - open until 7 pm (We have been to this Museum many times, so only took in our favorite exhibits and the new additions). It was a wonderful day & all 4 of us had a great time.

Great way to save money and not be afraid to do things! Your wallet will appreciate it. Everyone at the sites we visited were extremely friendly. One con - destinations don't stay open late - after 5 pm. Watch your time.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:
Should be able to add on more days once you have purchased it. We bought a 3 day pass and then when we got to Cape Cod realized we could use it for several more things so I wanted to purchase two more days and I could not do it. Also when we were in Boston we tried to book whale watching with the company listed on the go Boston card and they were completely full the whole time we were in Boston. So make reservations before you leave home because you will not be able to get a reservation even 4 days ahead of time.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:
I read other comments before buying the passes and really planned out my trip. We bought the 3 day pass and were in town for 5 days. We did all the more expensive tours and activities with the pass. Museums and tours take a considerable amount of time, so planning is necessary to get the most of the pass. We also planned to see sites in the same area, so we would not waste time traveling. Some tourist sites are free, or require a donation, and we saved those for the days our pass was not in effect. The 3 day pass was a great value. Best advice--research the places you want to go to, check admission fees and locations to determine where you'd like to go to determine if the pass is cost effective for you.
