Only minutes from public transportation and accessible on foot from many parts of the city, the Frog Pond is always full of fresh air and fun for everyone.
Enjoy the Frog Pond in the summer as well. When it's hot and the kids are restless, stroll over to the Frog Pond and give them some time to splash in the wading pool. Even the youngest children enjoy splashing in the long, shallow pool while the older kids love shrieking their way through the gushing fountain. Grab an ice cream cone from the concession stand and a spot on a shady bench and watch the kids enjoy themselves.
Wading and splashing: July through Labor Day: The Frog Pond spray pool is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.

Comments about Smart Destinations Ice Skating on Boston Common Frog Pond:
I went to the pond to go skate and was very excited about going as I am a local. I arrived at 8:10pm on a weeknight and began to stand in line. As soon as my friend and I got to the end of the line a girl that was in line turned around and told us that we would not be able to skate. She said that she was the last one in line as she explained she was a staff member there. She said that they stop letting people in a half hour before closing (which was 9pm). Soon more people began to get in line behind my friend and I so the girl turned around again and said in a loud angry manor "People you will not be skating tonight I am the last one". People still stoop in line a minutes later and she turned around once more at this point yelling at everyone "You stupid people aren't listening, the line cuts off at me". My friend and I then decided to leave the line because she was so rude and figured we really weren't going to get in. We watched the skaters for a little bit by the edge and glanced up to see that not only did that employee get in line but now she was in the booth with the person collecting tickets AND everyone that had been in line behind us was then let in to skate!! This was so aggravating! My friend and I then went back to the end of the line only to have the gate shut on us by that same very girl. We spoke nicely to her and explained that we were the two behind her all along. When we were still not let and the gate was closing on us we said we couldn't believe she yelled at everyone like that and she completely denied it!!! Ugh, this was a horrible experience, the staff is so RUDE!!
