Guests who embark on the Fall Foliage Bike Tour from Urban Adventours will get a chance to explore Frederick Law Olmsted’s famous system of parks while discovering the historic Emerald Necklace in a totally “green” way.
Beantown’s green spaces are ready and waiting for visitors and there’s no better time to ride on Comm. Ave, around the shores of Jamaica Pond or bike through the winding paths of the Arnold Arboretum than the fall. While this enchanting array of gardens, reserves, and open spaces is great all year, there’s no doubt that a visit when the foliage peaks in color between mid October and early November will be a special one.
The 15-mile Fall Foliage Bike Tour will cover: The Boston Common and Public Garden, The famous Charles River Esplanade, The Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, The Rose Kennedy Greenway and The Arnold Arboretum.
Guests of the your will receive an individually-fitted bike, helmet, water, and will be accompanied by a friendly and knowledgeable guide.
After gaining some notoriety in 2006 for using a BioBus fueled by recycled veggie-oil to bring bikes to hotel guests, the current incarnation of Urban Adventours really got going in 2009 when the company was awarded a special loan from the Boston Local Development Corporation and Green Business Awards.
Urban AdvenTours now offers sales and accessories in addition to tours, rentals and services. By working with the Mayor’s office, Urban AdvenTours also has a hand in providing cycling access to Boston school kids. Thanks in no small part to the work of the company, Boston is now ranked as one of the top cycling cities in the country.
“I would just like to thank UrbanAdventours for giving me the courage to get on a bicycle again,” a satisfied customer wrote in an email. “Not only was your tour entertaining to a local Bostonian; it made me want to purchase a bike immediately and resolved my fear of bicycling in the city. Thanks again!”

Comments about Smart Destinations :
This company was very professional. Initially, they could not find our reservation, but they did not skip a beat and found a guide to take us on the tour quickly. Our guide was very friendly and was incredibly knowledgeable about Boston history. It was raining throughout the tour, but our guide did not complain and had a great attitude. I would highly recommend this tour.
