The 3-hour Bike Tour of Cambridge is one of the newest offerings from Urban AdvenTours and it has been met with heaps of praise and accolades. Once you cross the Charles River and enter the City of Cambridge, you’ll have the chance to experience one of America’s most bicycle-friendly cities first-hand.
Cambridge is full of history but it is also one of the hottest spots in the Boston area and there’s no better way to explore it than on two wheels. Known as “Boston’s Left Bank,” Cambridge merges arts and academia into a blend that is as distinctly New England as a steaming hot bowl of chowdah.
The 11-13-mile Bike Tour of Cambridge will cover: Harvard Square, Central Square, The Charles River, Kendall Square, Frank Gehry’s Stata Center and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Guests of the tour will receive an individually-fitted bike, helmet, water, and will be accompanied by a friendly and knowledgeable guide.
After gaining some notoriety in 2006 for using a BioBus fueled by recycled veggie-oil to bring bikes to hotel guests, the current incarnation of Urban Adventours really got going in 2009 when the company was awarded a special loan from the Boston Local Development Corporation and Green Business Awards.
Urban AdvenTours now offers sales and accessories in addition to tours, rentals and services. By working with the Mayor’s office, Urban AdvenTours also has a hand in providing cycling access to Boston school kids. Thanks in no small part to the work of the company, Boston is now ranked as one of the top cycling cities in the country.
