Description

Cruise the widest man-made canal, Cape Cod's fascinating and famous waterway. Get an underbelly view of the Cape's two swooping car bridges and its unusual railroad bridge as you cruise your way among a variety of interesting craft and a narrator fills you in on the canal's history. This two-hour sightseeing cruise includes live commentary about the history and sights. Points of interest include Mass Maritime Academy, the Bourne Bridge, Vertical-Lift Railroad Bridge, Aptucxet Trading Post and Gray Gables.

May 1–30: Saturday and Sunday only, 1:30 pm;
May 31–June 20: Daily, 1:30 pm;
June 21–September 5: Monday–Saturday, 1:30 pm (Closed Sunday);
September 6–23: Daily, 1:30 pm;
September 27–October 10: Saturday and Sunday only, 1:30 pm

Driving:

From Boston, where Route 3 South ends ('flyover'): follow Route 6 West along the Cape Cod Canal. Continue on Route 6 West & Route 28 North from the Bourne Rotary. At the 4th set of lights take a left onto Onset Avenue. The Buttermilk Inn will be on your right. Continue on Onset Avenue and the Onset Town Pier will be on the left.
