Description

Take the scenic 'road' around the Cape and leave the driving to us! Travel back in time to a by-gone era as our commentator relives over 150 years of railroading on Cape Cod. Let the clickety-clack of the steel wheels whisk you away on a nostalgic two hour journey where you'll enjoy views accessible only by the railways.

Sand dunes, salt marshes, woodlands, and cranberry bogs line the rails to the banks of the Cape Cod Canal. Highlights include the Barnstable County Complex, Great Salt Marsh, The Sandwich Boardwalk, and the rich history of Cape Cod Canal. Make a whistle-stop in the historic village of Sandwich, Cape Cod's oldest town, with time to browse, dine, or visit one of its premier museums. Check the website for schedule information.

May 24-October 26. Days and times vary depending on season;

Closed

Mid-October through early-May. None but some scenic trains do not run daily. May be closed major U.S. holidays.

Driving:

Take Route 6 (Mid-Cape Hwy) to Exit 7. Take a left at the end of the ramp and folllow road for two miles to Rte. 28 traffic lights. Continue straight through until Willow Street ends. Take a right onto Main Street. Station is 100 yards on the right at the corner of Main Street and Center Street.

Public Transportation:

By Bus: From Boston, take the Plymouth & Brockton bus to the Hyannis Transportation Center. The train station is located just behind the transportation center.

Redemption Instructions:

Please present your Go Boston Card at the ticket counter in exchange for boarding ticket.

Valid for same day service only; tickets may not be purchased in advance or online for the Scenic Fun Train.

The Go City Card is accepted until 5:30pm unless otherwise noted; during all other times standard admission will apply.
