Description
The Hancock Clarke House is central to the story surrounding the start of the American Revolution. Home to two local ministers, Reverends John Hancock and Jonas Clarke, this house was the destination of Paul Revere and William Dawes on their famous midnight ride of April 18, 1775.

On that evening, legendary patriots John Hancock and Samuel Adams were guests of Reverend Clarke. Joseph Warren of Boston sent Revere and Dawes to the Hancock Clarke House to warn them and avert their possible capture by the British.

Today, the house contains furnishings and portraits owned by the Hancock and Clarke families and features a new film describing important facts from that first battle of the Revolution.
