Description

Science and technology come alive at the Museum of Science, Boston! Experience the power of discovery through more than 700 interactive exhibits, watch a film projected onto New England’s only IMAX® Dome screen, experience indoor lightning storms in the Theater of Electricity, surround yourself with beautiful creatures in the Butterfly Garden, or take off on an adventure in the 3-D Digital Cinema! Families with children aged eight or younger can visit the Discovery Center for an in-depth exploration of science topics through the fun of play.

Make music on the Soundstairs by going to the Second Level to explore the Human Body Connection in the Green and Blue Wing. Take the Soundstairs to the Lower Level because there is so much more to do! The Mathematica installment lets the whole family try hands-on activities to display mathematical concepts applicable to everyday objects and our daily lives. Walk by the Mugar Omni Theatre and watch the movie reels spin to see what goes on behind the scenes of an Omni theatre screen. In every nook and cranny of the Museum of Science, there is something to learn and discover – you will find a ball machine in the atrium of the museum as you ascend the stairs.

Some of the more popular exhibits include "Cliff" (one of only four nearly complete triceratops on display anywhere in the world), the Human Body Connection (which lets visitors learn more about how the human body works), and the Discovery Center (with a variety of hands-on activities for the younger crowd). With a wide array of exhibits covering the mechanical to the biological, there is something for every interest and every age. Come see for yourself why year after year the Museum of Science is one of the top Boston sights visited by holders of the Go Boston Card and the Boston Explorer Pass - and skip the general admission ticket line while you’re at it!
