Enjoy the amazing New England Aquarium on Boston Harbor and learn about the different species who reside here. Watch the African Penguins and the Rockhopper Penguins raise their young and zip by in the water on the first level. Don’t be afraid of the Sand Tiger Sharks and the Great Pacific Octopus because, even though they are some of the ocean’s scariest predators, they won’t cause you any harm since they are in the Giant Ocean Tank. You can get up close and personal with them without having the fear of being eaten! Travel to all corners of the world’s oceans to explore species like epaulette sharks and unicorns tangs which inhabit the Pacific Reef Community.
If you’ve brought the kids have them follow the exciting Penguin Power! theme program. Kids can learn about the penguins, their habitat, and how we can protect them.
There are tons of other exhibits to see at the aquarium:

Comments about Smart Destinations New England Aquarium:
I was surprised how small this place was. It really only took 2 hours to see everything! If I had paid cash, I would have been disappointed, but since we combined this with other things the same day using our Go Boston card, it was a good stop and worth our time. I have 3 children, ages 4, 6, and 8. It certainly was appropriate for their ages. The best feature is the huge cylindrical aquarium which features several sharks, a huge sea turtle, sting ray, blowfish, and other fun sea creatures.

Comments about Smart Destinations New England Aquarium:
We walked here along the waterfront from the ICA and then walked from here to the Paul Revere House in the North End. Incredible variety of attractions along this route. Park near Seaport Blvd and avoid the more expensive parking near the Aquarium. We found a meter on Seaport Blvd for a full day of free Sunday parking.
