How it works

Frequently Asked Questions

What are "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row.

If you have a 3-Day card, and you visit your first attraction on a Monday, your card will be valid on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Start your day early to get the most out of your card!

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions until 5:30pm with the Go Boston Card.

What is your refund policy?
Free Cancellation Insurance

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes free with every pass we sell.

If you have any questions, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated pass for a refund.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Should I have my passes shipped or should I pick it up?
  • Having your cards shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options.
Do you ship Go Boston Cards to hotels?

Sorry, we cannot ship to hotels because of delivery concerns.

I have a voucher, where can I pick up my card?

View a list of in-city pickup locations where you can redeem your voucher for cards.

Where can I buy the cards in Boston?

View a list of sales locations in Boston. Note that in-city purchases are available for full price only.

Does a Go Boston Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

Compare the price of the pass to the gate prices of the attractions you want to visit to see how much you can save. Many customers save more than 50%.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go Boston Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am-5:30pm.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go Boston Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go Boston Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go Boston Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to Boston as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

I still have questions!

Please feel free to call us at 866‑628‑9027 and we’ll be happy to help you!

Note: A Go Boston Card is non-transferable. This means that once you start using it, you are the only person who can use it to get into attractions. Go Boston Cards may not be re-sold.

You should treat your Go Boston Card like cash. If it is lost or stolen, it cannot be replaced.

Didn't work for us

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

Firstly, Boston was great. The pass helped us to identify which attractions to go to. Website says 'Sale Ends Today' - this seems to be on there every day. It offers 52 attractions, many that we would have done were closed in March when we visited, so it reduced the offerings to only 22 in Boston. Some were in outlying areas that it would have taken more than 5 days to do. However, knowing this we still opted for the 5 day pass. Even though we crammed as much as we could into our 5 days, we only actually did 8 sites, so we incurred a considerable loss, even with the small amount of discount on "Special Offers" it would have been cheaper to have bought tickets for the individual sites we visited. This is a cautionary note to other buyers. It would be worth it if you use the pass in the summer, take advantage of the more pricey offerings, such as boat rides, duck tour, and cram as much as you can in. BeanTown Trolley - it was inconvenient to have to go to pick up the ticket at a distant spot.. The driver was friendly and informative. However it was advertised as 'hop on and hop off', when we wanted to get off to walk, or look at a site, the driver almost kept us captive, he insisted on wanting to drive us on the whole loop, we had to strongly insist to be let off! Total Experience Tour was advertised on the website, however when we printed out our itinerary, it was not on there. We had to phone GoPass to find whether it was available. It was a whole day tour, much out of town, important to know when a you are planning how to see many sites in a short time, and we saw the Boston sites on foot anyway. In short, buyer beware, and calculate exactly how much you can do in a given time, for us it was not worth it, in fact a loss, and we would not do it again. (We found the $18 MBTA weekly ticket was the best bargain, we could use the T and buses as much as we wanted, it was cheap and very convenient. and we walked a lot.)

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

I wasn't aware that the hop on/off trolley ticket was good for two days. Trolley comes around every 40 or so min but there is no schedule so when you get to a stop you don't know how long you will have to wait.spend some time planning your days so that you don't go from one side of town then back to the other over and over. If Italian food is a must goto 355 Hanover Giacomos . For Canollis mikes pastries also on Hanover st.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

We just returned from a week trip to the Boston area, and used the Go card for everything. We really saved a lot of money and on the one rainy day we had, we were able to change our plans at the last minute and not have it cost us any more money. The card was easy to use at every site we went. I would say based on comments from the vendors that if you had the plastic type card, which we did, they worked best. We did Plymouth, Salem, Lexington, Concord, Old Sturbridge & Boston. If you have time...wait till these cards go on sale for even better value.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

We were on a weeks vacation, so actually bought 2 separate 3 day Go Boston Cards. We usedthe first 3 days in Maine and rented bikes, did the Baseball Hall of Fame, JFK Museum, Nantucket Ferry and Hyannis Boat Tour. Later in the week we did Boston and did Seguay Tour as our Bonus, Tall Ships, Trolley, Fenway Park Tour, Harvord Tour and Aquarium. Saved hundreds of $$ and wouldn't have seen so much without the value of the Go Card. Highly recommend!!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

I came across the Go Card when I was booking a birthday trip for my mom's 60th birthday. I had never visited Boston and the Go Card offered a variety of sites to see and travel ideas for us as first time travelers. It was a great value and I plan to buy again on my next trip.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

This card was such a great bargain. It saved me over $150 in the different attractions. The best way to use the card is to get online and look at all of the attractions. Plan to do several things in one day and with close planning you can have a great trip and enjoy many of the sites of Boston at such a discount. The tall ships was awesome,

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

This is not a discount card--it actually covers the cost of your admission to the included attractions. There were over 50 to choose from when we travelled. I was able to save almost $250 and do activities we could not have afforded otherwise, for two of us with this card. We found attractions not heavily advertised elsewhere, were able to use the Trolley for 2 days transportation around the city, and it even covers some places outside of Boston itself: Six Flags, Salem, Cape Cod... I am usually an avid planner, so my teenage daughter and I definitely made the most out of the three day pass, despite staying about an hour north of Boston. My only complaint was the pick up option we chose, since this was a last minute trip, we purchased with the pick up option and had trouble finding parking to actually pick up the card on our way to Six Flags the first day.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

We booked our cards in the winter for even greater savings (They are good for 365 days). [$] for the 3 day pass. I figure I saved $120 per card. Total of almost $500 for my family of 4. Plus what we saved at a couple of restaurants. Try to plan your days to get the most out of your cards. Which isnt as easy as you think -- dont forget how tiring holidays can be. The tall ships are a great break from the hustle of the rest of your holidays. The segways were our bonus choice and I cant recommend them highly enough (they book up fast). 100 percent get these cards.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

Our first visit to Boston and we got to see and do so much more because of the card. Everything was prepaid, so no standing in long lines. Most places are within walking distance, so was easy to visit at least 3 attractions/day. Before buying card, compare what's included on card with what you want to do, to see if card is cost effective for you. We were in Boston only 2 days and I figure we saved at least $40.00 per card.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

There was a wide range of activities available for many different interests. My only real con was that once started you couldn't stop. With the temperatures so high, it would have been nice to have had a break in activities. (we had the 5 day card)
