How it works

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go Boston Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions any time with the Go Boston Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Which delivery method should I choose?
  • Instant delivery is the fastest option. You'll be able to access your Go Boston Card from your email or on your phone immediately after you purchase.
With instant delivery you will receive a printable and mobile version of our guidebook.
  • Having your cards shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options.
  • With in-city pickup you can get a physical card and full-color printed guidebook without waiting for shipping. We will email you a voucher which can be redeemed for passes at one of our voucher redemption locations.
Do you ship Go Boston Cards to hotels?

Sorry, we cannot ship to hotels because of delivery concerns.

I have a voucher, where can I pick up my card?

View a list of in-city pickup locations where you can redeem your voucher for cards.

Where can I buy the cards in Boston?

View a list of purchase locations in Boston. Note that in-city purchases are available for full price only.

Does a Go Boston Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

Compare the price of the pass to the gate prices of the attractions you want to visit to see how much you can save. Many customers save more than 50%.

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in Boston so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go Boston Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go Boston Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to Boston as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go Boston Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go Boston Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go Boston Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

I still have questions!

Please feel free to call us at 866‑628‑9027 and we’ll be happy to help you!

Note: A Go Boston Card is non-transferable. This means that once you start using it, you are the only person who can use it to get into attractions. Go Boston Cards may not be re-sold.

Excellent
By Florida jen from Cocoa beach florida on
Cons:
Duck Tour,
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

My only complaint would be The Duck Tour in Boston. We attempt to ride tour in the morning hours and during process we were told they could do land part but since it was cold we could not do water part to later in afternoon when coast guard gives them go ahead. So as per there advice just purchase the tickets for the last trip of the day to secure our spot and come back later. Well as you can guess we went contained with our day and uses our card to do the red sox tour and unfortunately it took longer than expected and we could not make it back for the duck tour so we called to change time and to our disappointment we were told once you book it you have to use. So we lost the chance to experience the duck tour and the kids were super disappointed. I think since they were not running in the morning and we had to wait till the afternoon they should of been alittle more accommodating since we don't control the weather. But other than that we had no problems with the go card and it was easy to use at all locations in Boston except the duck tour!!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

First of all, saved us some money (not too much since we used it for no more than 3 days). All in all it's a very wise purchase, saved time during the trip and we could easily pass the lines for tickets while entering museums.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

We thought this was a great product to use although we did find that at some places people did not know how to use the barcode on the phone. Would recommend it as we did save money but do your homework first so you know where to get tickets etc. Some are not obvious.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

We were in Boston for eight days and the GoBoston card was well worth the price. The card allowed us to visit most of the places we planned at no additional cost. Only a few places were not included. However, we really did not have the time since there is so much to do in Boston. This was one of the most fun trips we have taken.

Simply Worked
By Dan from Albany, NY on
Pros:
Must-see attractions included, Skip the lines Benefit, Money Saver, Flexible Schedule
Cons:
Uninformed Staff,
Best Uses:
Budget Travelers, Active travelers, General Sightseeing ,
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Boston Card:

I think the process could use better instruction. I ordered it, it didn't really specify much in details and I was 100% relying on the staff at each attraction to be informative - if they didn't know better, I didn't know better and that's not a great thing. More documentation on how to USE the card would be great at the time of purchasing.

The card worked perfectly everywhere. We had no trouble getting our money's worth from it. If you plan your days you get maximum value. To really have an easy visit, buy the seven day Bus/ subway pass. It's cheap and effective.
