How it works

What is a Go Chicago Card?

A Go Chicago Card is an attraction pass that gets you into 25 Chicago attractions for one low price.

How does a Go Chicago Card Work?
  • Just select how many days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, or 5-Day cards.
  • Your Go Chicago Card grants you admission to all 25 attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions between 9:00am and 5:30pm.
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days.
How will I receive my pass?

You can choose to receive your pass:

  • Instantly on your smartphone — the most popular choice. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Instantly print at home — just print it and go. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Physical Card via Mail. Includes a full-color guidebook.
  • Pick it up at one of our in-city pickup locations.
What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guidebook with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

On a Go Chicago Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am-5:30pm.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go Chicago Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go Chicago Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go Chicago Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to Chicago as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Loved it!
By Paulina Verified Reviewer from Mexico on
Pros:
Save Time On Purchase, Save a lot of money, Skip the line
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We really liked the gocard, not only saved us a lot of time but a lot of money. You save time because you onlu purchase a ticket once and show up to the attractions without having to do the line. We bought the 3 day card and we got the best of it, we went to so many places (everything is walking or bus distance) and got to do the Cruise 3 times (TIP: go redeem your tickets before 5:30 BUT CHOOSE a night time cruise, youre allowed!) I would definitely buy this again.

Horrible wait in lines
By Julie Verified Reviewer from Woodland, MI on
Pros:

Cons:
Discount Is A Joke, No Pass To The Front Long Lines
Best Uses:
Tall Windy, 360
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

I bought this card with the main place we wanted to go was Shedd Aquarium. We got in the line for Chicago Go Cards, City Pass, and pre bought tickets. We watched the line for people buying tickets move faster than us. Stood in line for an hour. Had 4 cashiers for buying tickets and 1-2 for the Go Cards. Then had a worker come up to the back half of the line and say if you have a go card will help over here. Those of us who were at the front of the line didn't get asked and watched the back of the line get in ahead of us. Then for discounts....... All the stores I went to said discount couldn't be used on anything on sale. At the Water Tower Mall it said buy a minimum purchase and you would get a free gift. I spent $100.00 just to be told that I needed to spend $150.00 for the free gift. Not what I was expecting or wanted from my trip. After the sixth time of being told no at a store can't use it I quite using it very disappointed in the Go Card.

No line skipping for you!
By JT Verified Reviewer from Canton, MI on
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

Bought this card because we have special needs daughter and wanted to see Willis tower. Waited almost two hours to get up to top of tower. Go with CityPass card if you want to skip lines at Willis Tower, they go right to front of security line, you get to wait through the security line. They skip the movie and go straight to top of tower with CityPass card. With Go Card, you get to skip buying ticket line, but wait through security line, and then wait through movie line, eventually you will make it to the top. Plan on 2+ hours if you go with Go Card.

Best Uses:
Field Museum, Tall Windy,

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We purchased a 3 day pass and covered 12 paid attractions for the 3 days. We planned ahead incase of rainy weather and not rainy weather. However it didn't rain so everything went smoothly.1st day we didn't use the Hop in Hop out but used it for 2nd and 3rd days. Very convenient to move around the city without paying for expensive parking. there are busses every 20 minutes and they have awesome tour guides. Tall windy was the most awesome experience. We had Field Museum, Shedd and Planetarium on Day three which was a Saturday. It was pretty crowded at the Shedd and Field Museum. Even the will call line was long. Besides that everything was awesome. Plus we were so lucky that the Air and Water show was in that weekend.

Trolley Disappoints!
By Gibbs Verified Reviewer from St. Louis on
Pros:
I Thought The Value Was G, Skip the lines
Cons:
Have To Use It By 530, Only Good For One Day
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We thought it was good value. However the trolley ride was a dissapointment. It was very delayed and caused us to miss two of our three destinations. I would not reccommend choosing the trolley ride. Everything else about the gocard worked well.

Smart Destinations Response: Thank you for using our Go Chicago Card and also for leaving us valuable feedback. We apologize for any delays you experienced with the Trolley Tour and will be sure to pass your comments on to them. The weather we have been experiencing has brought more vacationers to all our destination cities, which unfortunately results in more people wanting to experience the same top tours and attractions. We appreciate you choosing Smart Destinations and hope to see you back in the future!

Broke even
By From Columbus, OH from Columbus, OH on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We broke even, but wished that we had more ways of customizing the value distribution. Ie, would have loved to be able to return to the same museum twice and would have given up an entry to another. Would have enjoyed one ride on public transit system per day instead of a Pier ride (or another lesser valuable attraction). We had two adults, one senior and one 8 year old child in our group and bought the 3 day card for each. We were hoping to go to 3 museums, trolley/doubledecker tours(they are excellent!) and sail on Tall Windy +do the Pier rides, but the weather turned too rainy and cold on the day we planned the Pier and sailship ride, so instead we went to MCI but would have rather returned to Field, Shedd or Art Institute (which we already did on previous days). We activated the trolley/doubledecker ride on the last day of our card and were able to use it the next day, when GoChicago card had expired. That worked out wonderfully!

Chicago Trip was good due to Go Card
By Ram Verified Reviewer from Milwaukee,Wisconsin on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

Using GO Card, i was able to cover up 6 spots (SkyDeck,Aquarium,FieldMuseum,AdlerPlanetorium,Navy Pier and Hancock Tower)in same day. They have tie up with Gray Line tours (Buses) which helped me to visit all places in Bus with no extra money.Would suggest increasing bus frequency within city will increase visitors. Last time when i visited chicago, my time got wasted in car parking and was able to visit only 3 places. I found smart destinations Go Card is really cheap and time saving.

Better than City Passes
By Love to travel Verified Reviewer from Des Allemands, La (New Orleans area) on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We visited even more places with the card than we would have without the card. We managed 13 attractions in 3 and a half days and saved about $70 dollars per person. Since our pass was for 5 days we could have done more but only 1, 2 and 5 day passes are available. Found a $20 off of $450 purchase online that I was able to use. Most attractions close before 5:30 except for Art museum on Thursday night but we just entered right before that time and stayed until later since museum did not close until 8 that night. Navy Pier ride pass only needs to be obtained by 5:30 then you can use it at any time. River cruise and lake cruise you need to do by 5:30 but to me the view is better in the day light anyway. 360 Chicago (John Hancock Observatory) and Willis (Sears) Tower/Skydeck we did early in the am so lines were short but one of the days was foggy so maybe check that out before planning your day. If you want a night view you would have to hang around for hours so just pay the extra money if you want entry after 5:30. You will still get many other benefits from this card.
