How it works

What is a Go Chicago Card?

A Go Chicago Card is an attraction pass that gets you into 25 Chicago attractions for one low price.

How does a Go Chicago Card Work?
  • Just select how many days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, or 5-Day cards.
  • Your Go Chicago Card grants you admission to all 25 attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions between 9:00am and 5:30pm.
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days.
How will I receive my pass?

You can choose to receive your pass:

  • Instantly on your smartphone — the most popular choice. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Instantly print at home — just print it and go. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Physical Card via Mail. Includes a full-color guidebook.
  • Pick it up at one of our in-city pickup locations.
What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guidebook with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row.

If you have a 3-Day card, and you visit your first attraction on a Monday, your card will be valid on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Start your day early to get the most out of your card!

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions until 5:30pm with the Go Chicago Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Which delivery method should I choose?

With instant delivery you will receive a printable and mobile version of our guidebook.
  • Having your cards shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options.
  • With in-city pickup you can get a physical card and full-color printed guidebook without waiting for shipping. We will email you a voucher which can be redeemed for passes at one of our voucher redemption locations.

View a list of in-city pickup locations where you can redeem your voucher for cards.

Where can I buy the cards in Chicago?

View a list of sales locations in Chicago. Note that in-city purchases are available for full price only.

Does a Go Chicago Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

We’ve made it easy to compare the combined gate prices with the price of the Go Chicago Card, to see how much you could save. Try our Savings Calculator!

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go Chicago Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am-5:30pm.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go Chicago Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go Chicago Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go Chicago Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to Chicago as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

I still have questions!

Great deal for busy tourist!
By Debbie from Rochester, NY on

Good For Active People
Cons:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We had the 5 day Go Card for our trip to Chicago. There are lots of sights to choose from & it comes with a map & a short description of each. We are very active travelers & try to see as much as possible so it worked out well for us. If you like to set a more leisurely pace you should check out the cost of admission to the places you plan to go versus the cost of the Go Card to make sure that you will get your money's worth. That said, this was our first trip to Chicago & the selection of attractions was excellent. We had the flexibility to adjust our agenda on the fly based proximity & time rather than being locked into a specific set of destinations which was really nice. The card was very easy to use & I had no difficulty with redeeming it. One negative was that most of the attractions were only good until 5:00 or 5:30 even though some were open later.

Worked Like a Charm
By Cardholder from Barrington, IL on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

It gave us access to destinations we wouldn't have thought of using or going to such as the Architectural Boat Tour, the top of the Sears Tower, the water taxi etc. At the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium, it gave us access but didn't cover all of the exhibits/shows so we did pay extra. Regardless, the card was well worth the price.

Good value
By Ei Reit from Toronto ON on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

Very good value, purchased the 3 day, if we had more time we would have purchased the 5 day which would probably be even better value. We were able to see what we wanted and the 3 day option forced us to organize/plan our time ahead. For 3 days we were somewhat rushed but it allowed us to get a great overview/preview of Chicago-hoping next time we can spend more time.

I would do it again!
By Florence the Nightingale from Freedom, NH on
Pros:
Great attractions, Easy, Fast
Cons:
Some fine print, Expensive,
Best Uses:
Long weekend,

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

I love that with the GO Card, you do not have to wait in line to get tickets. This saved us A LOT of time in Chicago. Also, it was great to see all the available attractions & helped us plan what to do each day. Word to the wise: We messed up on the Hancock 360 experience and had to buy tickets. We did not see the fine print that you have to enter by 5:30. Since we visited Willis Tower during the day, we really wanted a nighttime experience.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We really liked the gocard, not only saved us a lot of time but a lot of money. You save time because you onlu purchase a ticket once and show up to the attractions without having to do the line. We bought the 3 day card and we got the best of it, we went to so many places (everything is walking or bus distance) and got to do the Cruise 3 times (TIP: go redeem your tickets before 5:30 BUT CHOOSE a night time cruise, youre allowed!) I would definitely buy this again.

Horrible wait in lines

No Pass To The Front, Long Lines Discount Is A Joke
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

I bought this card with the main place we wanted to go was Shedd Aquarium. We got in the line for Chicago Go Cards, City Pass, and pre bought tickets. We watched the line for people buying tickets move faster than us. Stood in line for an hour. Had 4 cashiers for buying tickets and 1-2 for the Go Cards. Then had a worker come up to the back half of the line and say if you have a go card will help over here. Those of us who were at the front of the line didn't get asked and watched the back of the line get in ahead of us. Then for discounts....... All the stores I went to said discount couldn't be used on anything on sale. At the Water Tower Mall it said buy a minimum purchase and you would get a free gift. I spent $100.00 just to be told that I needed to spend $150.00 for the free gift. Not what I was expecting or wanted from my trip. After the sixth time of being told no at a store can't use it I quite using it very disappointed in the Go Card.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

We purchased a 3 day pass and covered 12 paid attractions for the 3 days. We planned ahead incase of rainy weather and not rainy weather. However it didn't rain so everything went smoothly.1st day we didn't use the Hop in Hop out but used it for 2nd and 3rd days. Very convenient to move around the city without paying for expensive parking. there are busses every 20 minutes and they have awesome tour guides. Tall windy was the most awesome experience. We had Field Museum, Shedd and Planetarium on Day three which was a Saturday. It was pretty crowded at the Shedd and Field Museum. Even the will call line was long. Besides that everything was awesome. Plus we were so lucky that the Air and Water show was in that weekend.

No line skipping for you!
By JT Verified Reviewer from Canton, MI on
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Chicago Card:

Bought this card because we have special needs daughter and wanted to see Willis tower. Waited almost two hours to get up to top of tower. Go with CityPass card if you want to skip lines at Willis Tower, they go right to front of security line, you get to wait through the security line. They skip the movie and go straight to top of tower with CityPass card. With Go Card, you get to skip buying ticket line, but wait through security line, and then wait through movie line, eventually you will make it to the top. Plan on 2+ hours if you go with Go Card.
