Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago is the only museum in the Chicago area that exclusively provides exhibits and programming for ages birth to 8. All 17 permanent exhibits are hands-on and interactive. Shop in the child-sized Dominick’s grocery store, find your way through the Discovery Maze, build and race vehicles in Car Care, cure stuffed animals in the Pet Vet, make sandwiches in the play Potbelly Cafe, dance and sing in Music Makers, and make a splash in Water Works.

There are also four baby play areas for infants and crawlers. Habitat Park, a secure outdoor exhibit area with a sculpture trail, climbing structures, and underground tunnel, offers seasonal programming. The Museum features 200 free parking spots, a cafe and store, and is fully accessible to all children, with any level of physical or cognitive ability.

Note:

Tip: Children ages 1-2 will be charged regular admission at the museum. Child admission changes to $8.50 as of June 2010.

Mondays, 9:30 am-12:00 pm (Year-round, except for 9:30 am – 5 pm June – August and school holidays);
Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 am-5:00 pm;
Sunday, 12:00 pm-5:00 pm.

Closed:

New Year's Day, July 4, Labor Day, September 13–16, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve. Closed for 4 days every September for Clean-Up Week; see website. All holiday hours are subject to change without notice.

Driving:

Take Route 94 West to Lake Avenue West exit. Drive three miles, then turn right on Patriot Boulevard, and drive one mile. Museum is at corner of Patriot and West Lake Avenue. Free parking available on site.

Public Transportation:

By Bus: (Monday – Friday only) Pace Bus #423 serves the Museum. Catch the bus at Blue line Harlem station or Purple line Linden Station. Museum also served by Metra North Glenview station (walk 1/2 mile west on West Lake Ave.)

Redemption Instructions:

Please present your Go Chicago Card to any ticket taker. They will validate it, return your card, and let you in.

The Go City Card is accepted until 5:30pm unless otherwise noted; during all other times standard admission will apply.
