The Chicago History Museum is a visitor's first stop in discovering the rich and vibrant history of Chicago. Showcasing items from a 22 million-piece collection, the Museum is also home to a world-renowned costume collection, as well as artifacts from the life and presidency of Abraham Lincoln.

The Museum features an exhibition on Chicago history entitled 'Chicago: Crossroads of America' which explores the legacy of Chicago's music, art, culture, commerce, politics, and architecture. The Children's Gallery exhibition, 'Sensing Chicago,' enables visitors to explore Chicago's history through the five senses. Get your shopping fix at the Museum Store.

*On rare occasions this attraction closes early due to private functions, outside of the control of Go Chicago Card.

Closed:

Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. All holiday hours are subject to change without notice.

Driving:

Lake Shore Drive or Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) to North Ave. exit. The Museum is on the northeast corner of North Ave. and Clark Street. Parking is available at Clark and LaSalle Streets. Enter on Stockton Drive.

Public Transportation:

Take CTA: Buses 11, 22, 36, 72, 73, 151, and 156.

Redemption Instructions:

Please present your Go Chicago Card to any ticket taker. They will validate it, return your card, and let you in.

The Go City Card is accepted until 5:30pm unless otherwise noted; during all other times standard admission will apply.
