Description
The Field Museum is home to Sue, the world’s largest, most famous T. rex, plus more than 35 world-renowned exhibitions. In "Underground Adventure", visitors magically "shrink" to explore a subterranean world where everything is one hundred times its normal size. Meet the famous man-eating Lions of Tsavo. Discover "Inside Ancient Egypt" where 23 Egyptian mummies and 5,000-year-old hieroglyphics reside. Walk amid dinosaurs in "Evolving Planet" and be among the first to visit life as it existed many years ago in "The Ancient Americas."

The Museum's regular public hours are 9am - 5pm every day except Christmas Day. Last admission at 4pm. All times CST.

On the following dates - The Field Museum in Chicago will extend public hours from 9am - 6pm:
Saturday, November 28
Saturday, December 26 - 30

On the following dates - The Field Museum Chicago will shorten public hours as noted below:
Thursday, December 3 - close at 3pm. Last admission at 2pm.
Wednesday, December 16 - close at 4:30pm. Last admission at 3:30pm.
Thursday, December 24 - close at 3pm. Last admission at 2pm.

Take CTA: Take the Red, Green or Orange line to Roosevelt, transfer to an eastbound #12 Roosevelt bus.

CTA buses: #146 Marine Michigan and #12 Roosevelt provide regular daily service directly to the museum; For transit information call

Redemption Instructions:

For fastest access to the Museum, Go Chicago Card holders should enter the Museum at the south entrance and proceed to the will-call desk. Included general admission* plus admission to Underground Adventure with the Go Chicago Card. Admission to these special exhibitions is not included with purchase of the Go Chicago Card. Additional admission upgrade must be paid at Museum-based on availability.

Tip: During Spring Breaks, summers, holidays, and special occasions, the Museum frequently extends or shortens hours. Please check the website or call for details.

The museum will close at 3:00 pm on October 17th.

The Go City Card is accepted until 5:30pm unless otherwise noted; during all other times standard admission will apply.
