Thanks to the city of Chicago, you can see the animals for free. And with our pass, the adventure doesn't stop there. Kids can take a spin on the Endangered Species Carousel or hop aboard a pint-sized animal themed "express" train.

You will LOVE the excitement and variety at the Lincoln Park Zoo and you will surely be enamored of all the creatures who call it home. One of the aims of this zoo is to promote conservation, which means not only encouraging the protection of Planet Earth, but also investing our time and care into the preservation of endangered animal species. What better way to start your trip to this awesome zoo than to take a ride on the Endangered Species Carousel? Located next to the Lion House, the carousel is a Chicago landmark. Enjoy the 48 intricately hand-carved and beautifully hand-painted artisan replicas of animals that are in need of protection. The young and the young-at-heart will all have fun hanging around with these colorful models of baby gorillas, polar bears, wild dogs and more.

All aboard! Across from the Seal Pool, kids can ride a pint-sized “express” train built just for them! Just pick your favorite animal-themed car on the LPZoo Children’s Train and let the conductor take your little ones away on an awe-inspiring journey aboard this super-cool steam locomotive-styled train! LPZoo’s Children’s Train is a wild ride that will leave your kids wanting to see more of the zoo’s awesome animals and displays.

After experiencing a thrill on these animal-inspired, family-friendly rides, head into the zoo’s main attraction area to see the real thing! Lincoln Park Zoo is an urban oasis, filled with creatures from the far reaches of the globe, and a trip here is one of the quintessential Chicago experiences you won’t want to miss. A lion’s roar echoing off the building nearby will announce your arrival to the rest of the animal kingdom. Let the adventure begin!

Just steps north of downtown, animals thrive in rainforests, savannahs and many other realistic and well-maintained habitats. See marine mammals in the Sea Lion Pool and chimpanzees and gorillas in the Center for African Apes. Young visitors of all ages will enjoy Farm-in-the-Zoo, and will marvel at the unique animals housed at the Children’s Zoo. Here kiddies can cool off in the mist spraying sidewalk fountains! Meander through amazing exhibits housing birds of prey, bears, penguins and so much more. Cruise South Lake Lagoon in a paddle boat, then stroll the grounds to one of many restaurants, including the new Café at Wild Things – serving fresh foods from local farmers.

Lincoln Park Zoo lets you learn about the circle of life and view Mother Nature’s animals in their natural habitats. With your pass you can enjoy a ride on The AT&T Endangered Species Carousel and Lionel Train Adventure! Lincoln Park Zoo is open every day and is always free. Enjoy your excursion into the wilderness!

One of my favorite places in the city. Lincoln Park is one of the most beautiful zoos in the world. The lagoon, the lake front, the skyscrapers, and the animals make this spot unique. This zoo is a show piece for Chicago.
