Description
The Lincoln Park Zoo is nestled between Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Established in 1868, it is among the oldest zoos in the country, and it is also among the most modern. A leader in wildlife conservation, community education and recreation, the Lincoln Park Zoo attracts more than 3 million visitors each year. Open 365 days and with no admission fee, you will be amazed with what you will find within these 35 acres. Experience the thrill of gazing directly into the eyes of a lowland gorilla or standing toe to toe with a black rhinoceros. Take an African Journey and see meerkats, dwarf crocodiles, giraffes and more. Famous also for its historical structures, the zoo has succeeded at combining state of the art animal and visitor facilities with beautiful architectural reflections of past times and sensibilities.
