Senior Web - Software Developer

Job Summary
Provides leadership and develops software for multi platform public facing websites using the following technologies: Java, Spring, Hibernate, Velocity, Ant, BIRT, Eclipse, Axis as well as Perl, HTML:Mason, SOAP, PHP, Linux, MySQL

• Responsible for providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to more junior level developers on the team as well as being a “hands-on” technical contributor to the overall development effort.
• The candidate will be responsible for development on all tiers of the application from Java based e-commerce back end through web service bridge to Perl front end.
• Design and Specification work includes reviewing functional specifications and developing technical design specs and or prototypes. Working directly with the Engineering Directory and Product Manager as well as other team members.
• Programming, including bug fixes, new feature design, and development of future products. Maintain existing code and provide bug fixes and improvements where necessary. Work with front end developers to set appropriate time lines and technological expectations.
• QA, which includes testing of your code and the code of others. Bug tracking and maintenance.

Minimum Job Requirements:
BS in Computer Science with 8-12+ years of experience programming: 6+ years Java, 3-5 years Perl / PHP and 3+ years of Linux experience desired. Real World experience with the Spring framewok and Hibernate required. Understanding of SOAP web services and supporting technologies also desired.

• Experience managing or leading a team of software developers strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of Object Oriented design and core patterns (MVC, DAO, IoC). SQL and database design.
• We are looking for an experienced general programmer with deep Java, Object Oriented Experience. We need the person to have scripting experience in either PHP or Perl.
