Santa Monica Museum of Art creates dynamic exhibitions of contemporary art and culture in all mediums and across disciplines, complemented by innovative educational programs. SMMoA is located in Bergamot Station, an historic train station transformed into a lively arts complex. The only non-collecting museum in Southern California, SMMoA devotes its exhibition spaces - the main gallery and two Project Rooms - to exploring and advancing the work of contemporary local, national, and international artists whose unique bodies of work merit sustained inquiry and recognition. The newest addition to the museum is GRACIE: Shop/Storage/Installation, a multifunctional exhibition, bookshop, storage, and reception area. GRACIE architecturally and sculpturally encompasses the museum lobby and extends outwards to occupy the building exterior towards the parking lot. The unique books and merchandise within GRACIE create a sense of delight and discovery for visitors. Get closer to contemporary art at SMMoA.

Driving:

Bergamot Station is just off the interstate 10 freeway. From the 10 East or West: Take Cloverfield exit onto Cloverfield Boulevard going north. Take first right onto Michigan Avenue. Michigan Avenue dead ends in Bergamot Station. The Santa Monica Museum of Art is located in building G-1, at the southwest corner of the parking lot. From the 405 North or South: Take the 10 West and follow above directions.
