We paid full price for our Go Cards....could have gotten them cheaper on line. We bought two adult and two children cards for five days. I wished there were more places to purchase the Go Cards...getting them was inconvient. Our children were 10 & 11. My best recommendation....plan, plan, plan! Get going early! Also, do quicker visits in the morning and save things that will require longer amounts of time for later in the day. Like Universal, Lego Land and Knott's Berry...do them later in the day just get there before 5:30 and then you can stay into the evening. Here's what we did with the card. Some days we didn't use the card...we were in CA for 10 days....so the days that we used the card, we squeezed a lot in! Day 1: Universal Studios (crowded stayed only 4 hours) then went to Hollywood and did the Double Decker Starline Bus Tour...last ride of the day! Day 2: Madame Tussauds Hollywood, Hollywood Museum, Kodak Theatre guided Tour. Then drove to Santa Monica and did Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. Then drove to Gardena and did the K1 indoor Karting. Slept in Irvine. Day 3: Woke up and went to Wild Rivers Water Park for a few hours. Left, drove down to Lego Land and stayed until early evening. Then drove down to Mission Beach area in San Diego. Day 4: Stayed in Mission Beach. Woke, went on the first San Deigo Harbor Cruise of the day...did just one hour (call ahead for reservations!), then did Belmont Park for an hour. Then we drove back up north and stopped in Long Beach at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, stayed about an hour. Had time so we dashed north more and went back to the K1 Karting...boys loved that place! Day 5: Went to an Angels/Red Sox game....hey, we're from Massachusetts! This was not on the Go Card. But nearby was Knott's Berry Farm, so after the game we went there. Overall....very good value if you go quickly through stuff. We would have NEVER done all of these things without the card. But with the card...we really wanted to get our money's worth out of it. If you are slow moving and late sleepers...this might not be the thing for you. But my family likes to move, move, move when we are touring and doing vacation touristy things. Also, plan on traffic. If GPS says something is 15 minutes away....it will take you an hour in the L.A. area.
Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
This is a great way to see some of the most popular destinations in LA! Some advanced planning is helpful to make the most of your time, since passes are not honored after 5:30 p.m. Even without planning ahead, we were able to see and do most of the things we wanted to do.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
You should plan ahead of time the things you want to see and do. If you want until you get there, you will have wasted precious time and will miss things. We took a GPS with us. If we didn't have it we would have missed half of the things we planned to do. The card was a great investment.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
There are stringent time restrictions on when you can use this card. For instance you must be at the attraction by 5:30. When we got stuck in traffic and got to the attraction at 5:35 the card was not honored even though we were only 5 minutes late.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
Went to LA for 6 days and bought the 3 day card. What is great was that the booklet for the card was organized by area, so it made planning for each day a little easier and covered great. I wasn't able to do all the things I wanted to because I'm not an early morning person, and in order to really get good use of the card, you need to be out by 8am to get to the last place to swipe by 5pm. However with the 5pm deadline to entry for the attractions/tours, it was VERY difficult to make the most use of the card. There was lot more pre-planning that I did not anticipate - ie, trying to book tours around lunch/dinner and still having to estimating travel time in order to get in as many attractions before 5pm. This was tedious and took away from the full satisfaction of the attraction/tour. It would be great if the card could be used till closing time for all the attractions.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
Bought the 3-day Go LA card for 2 people. Thought it was a good deal after seeing all the positive reviews. 1st day. Wanted to go to Warner Bros. tour in morning and Universal Studios Hollywood in afternoon as I saw in iternery sample on the web. Went to Warner Bros. studios and told card was only Valid 2-4pm. Huh? How was I going to get there at that time. Was disappointed. After I had to pay $7 for parking already. This was in the booklet, and it's my bad for not reading it better. So we just spent the entire day at Universal Studios Hollywood. 2nd day. Went to Hollywood. Did the Trolley Tour with Starline. I think this was their cheapest tour. Ok, but driver was very customer service oriented. Did Kodak Theater tour. Was very interesting. Did Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. If you like taking pictures with stars, then that's the place to go. I've never been there and it's a great experience. That's all we could do for the day, as time ran out from the 5:30pm cut off when the card is valid. Wanted to go to the Hollywood Museum but they don't open on Tuesdays. 3rd day. Went to Knott's Berry Farm in the morning and planned to go to Wild Water Kingdom in the afternoon, but went there about 3:30pm and told it was closing at 4pm. Huh? In sunny California water parks only open from 11am-4pm? So we went back to Knott's and told we had to pay another $12 to park again. We just left. Overall, I think this is a good deal if you plan carefully, read the booklet and go to all the theme parks (not Disney). You also need to make reservations which I never like to do. Where as if you just go and pay, you'll jump right in line. Watch out for time restrictions. Restrictions are never good, especially with time. If you don't like squeezing all your activities in 3 days, you should buy the 7 day pass to get more out of the card. But if you search around the web and look at all the brochures in the Hotel or Hollywood kiosks, you can find many coupons that will save you as much or more. I don't think I would buy the cards if I had to do it again.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
If you go to any of these places and don't buy this card, you are out of your mind! I had purchased it for Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Always excellent and you save at least 50%. On this trip we would have spend like $350 plus and we bought the 5 days to Los Angeles for less than $200. Only way I would not recommend it is if you will not visit anything, otherwise, go.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
We really saw many attractions when in the LA area, thanks to this card. It forced us to visit places we normally wouldn't have gone. Most of the popular tourist sites were included, too..which was wonderful. It was extremely easy to use and also loved the fact that we could pick our own days when we wanted to use it!!! The only thing that we didn't like was that you have to be admitted into any of the attractions BEFORE 5:30pm. We would have liked to do things in the evening, but couldn't use the card. Everything else was great. I am soooo glad we bought these cards. We saved a ton of money and had a great vacation because of them!!!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go Los Angeles Card:
We loved this pass. We used it every day and did a variety of parks and museums and tours we would not have done other wise. We are not museum people but we loved the HOllywood Museum and the Kodac Tour. We did Legoland and the Zoo in addition to an afternoon bus tour and Universal studios. Great bang for your buck for a family of 5
