Comments about Smart Destinations Dolby Theatre Guided Tour:

Hollywood the city itself isn't pretty but this Dolby Tour was excellent. Barbara gave us an in-depth history and tour of the Academy Awards. I never watched the event nor even care who wins but learning about the background of how it all began and how it is today is intriguing. Not for small children as they may not care about such history. Barbara was great and answered all kinds of questions. She never lost patience with anybody. I'd come again.

Comments about Smart Destinations Dolby Theatre Guided Tour:

We bought a Go Card which included a free tour of the Dolby theatre. We tried to book on the Friday but due to the theatre having two movie premiere's there was no tours till Tuesday. We were still here then and decided to go early for a 10 am viewing. We were lucky as we were the only ones taking the tour and got the VIP treatment. We were allowed to take photos and went through everything and rooms and we were impressed with the amount we could see and do. Thank you Dolby Theatre the Oscars will be more interesting next time we view.

I thought it was a great way to see behind the scenes - after all that's what's so interesting about Hollywood. Only wanted to do it on the Go LA Card though because it worked so well with the Hollywood itinerary.

20 minutes if you have time to waste!

Comments about Smart Destinations Dolby Theatre Guided Tour:

I'm glad that the Dolby theatre tour is included in my LA Go Card, so I don't have to actually "pay" for the tour. In my opinion, the tour is pretty worthless. It's a 20 minutes tour and it costs 20$. Actually the tour guide will just bring you to the theatre stage so you can see the theatre. Photo is not allowed during the tour. They will give you a "post card" as consolation at the end of the tour. Save your 20$ for other tour!

Comments about Smart Destinations Dolby Theatre Guided Tour:

Located @ the Hollywood & Highland center the Dolby Theatre created to host the Oscars does not disappoint. Once again our GO Cards were easily scanned. We ascended the stairs just like the stars do (great photo ops). We were then greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide who escorted us into the main lobby. Sadly we were informed no pictures allowed though at the end they did give us each a great picture postcard. The tour included a lot a anecdotes and of course real behind the scenes touring. Walking onto center stage just as the winners do was quite a thrill. We were told that this year the Oscars was delayed because of the Olympics. The Olympics they stated is the most watched televised event in the world. The Oscars however are the second most viewed programming in the world and they take place every year! For the two weeks leading up to the show the Dolby theatre is closed. So plan accordingly not to be disappointed. Note that you are indeed in the heart of Hollywood when visiting there. Lots to see and do.
