We took this tour on one of LA's hottest week-ends in September. The bus was an un-airconditioned open air van. O.K when on the road except for the fumes, but too hot at stops. Not what I would expect for [$]. Tour guide was not very knowledgeable either. The home tour was quite boring and too long. 45 minute stops in Rodeo and Hollywood too short. Tour started late and finished late, we got off in Universal studios because our Hotel was there. otherwise an unnecessary stop. Not enough time to check out city walk, which driver parked several hundred yards away from. Skip it and take the Redline hollywood tour instead.

We are a family of 10 and we were going on one of the tours provided with the go la cards. We had a great time and had a really funny tour guide. We decided to pay a reservation fee to have guaranteed seating on the bus - which I by the way recommend for every big group since we got there and it was sold out completley - Thanks to Go Cards we had a great tour experience for less money and I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING THIS TOUR.

They try to manipulate you into buying the guaranteed reservation for [$], when buses are not full. They dropped me off at Universal Studios and told me to wait in the same spot for another driver. He came late and did not park in the same place. Anyhow, they are always late. Staff is rude at the office. The driver was great and I gave him a good tip 'cause he deserved it.On the positive side, they take you to great sightseeing spots.

Be very careful! If you have a go card and no reservation you will be told to come to the bus at the time the bus has left NOT when it's boarding. I went there and was told there were 15 extra seats so we'd be fine without a reservation. They said to come back 1/2 hr later. I questioned this as the schedule said the bus would leave at 1:15pm. The guy said that's when it boarded but since we didn't have reservations to come back at 1:30PM and he'd give us a boarding pass. We came back at 1:25pm and were told the bus had left. My host called to speak to a manager and was told by the person on the phone they were not allowed to get the manager. My host insisted and a manager came on. It was the same person as the one who told us to come back too late. He wouldn't listen to my host, hung up twice, told her to complain to go card, and would only talk when my host threatened to report his business and spread the word through the media my host works for. He finally asked how it should be resolved. My host told him to reserve a spot for the 1:15pm bus on Friday 2/12/2010 and not to charge one penny. He said it was reserved but we have yet to see. This is bad business all the way around. In Los Angeles there are several competing tour companies. My suggestion? Go with any one but this one!

The tour was very good. All we had to do was make reservations by calling the vendor directly and giving a credit card to guarantee our spots. The tour bus was full and we were glad we actually reserved in advance (it's only $5 per person and if you arrive earlier to their office in Santa Monica you can get the best seats, it's worth it).
