Gator Park Airboat Tour

Deep in Everglades National Park, take one of Gator Park Airboat Tour's famous rides down the River of Grass! Pass by a replica of a common fishing camp used by Indians, a palm and cypress wood structure called a chickee. Then pick up speed and head for where the sawgrass grows tall, giving the appearance of an open prairie stretching for miles on end.

Gator Park is the premier Airboat tour in the Florida Everglades. Experienced and professional guides help you spot alligators, soft-shelled turtles, and exotic wading birds. Out here there is no dry land, except for the tree covered islands called hammocks where mammals such as raccoons, whitetail deer, and wild boar live.

At the Wildlife Show at Gator Park, learn how the Indians wrestled alligators–you might even be asked to lend a hand. There is no better way to experience the Everglades!

The Everglades National Park is known for its vast wildlife. There are hundreds of bird species, many of which are on the endangered or threatened list. On your Gator Park tour, you'll see lots of large wading birds, such as the roseate spoonbill, great blue heron, white ibis and a variety of egrets, as well as the osprey.

The Everglades' marine life includes more than 200,000 alligators as well as American crocodiles. In abundance are fish such as large mouth bass, redfish, snapper, blue gil and catfish.

Other wildlife in the Everglades includes the white-tailed deer, more than 28 different snakes - a few which are venomous - and let us not forget, the endangered Florida panther. To learn more or see some of these Everglades wildlife firsthand, make sure you visit our wildlife show immediately after your Gator Park airboat tour.

Comments about Smart Destinations :

You go on an airboat and see if you can see any gators or turtles. They can't gurantee it because they are out in their natural habitat. We saw one gator and a few turtles. The ride was fun and the tour guide did an excellent job. they do a show after the airboat ride which was really good as well.

Pros:
Airboat was fun
Cons:
No gators seen
Best Uses:
Good stop
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations :

Have done airboating previously, however, this tour, although we were in the Everglades, no gators found, and airboat driver went very fast, side to side and several people not liking it. Not the typical airboat tour. The alligator demo on site, with the other animals was very informative. Very small, couple hour stop then move on.

Comments about Smart Destinations :

This was cool and I'd do it again tomorrow. The airboat ride was just cool. It wasn't super long nor super short. Just a fun ride. The alligator show afterwards was amusing. This is a quaint attraction so don't make a whole day plan for it, but it would be great to do while you're already on that end of town.
