- Description
- A 'cafe' is a hangout where anyone can sit as long as they want, sipping wine, while listening to music or engaging in the simple daily ritual of leisurely reading the newspaper over a cup of coffee or tea and a bagel or croissant; this philosophy gave birth to the News Cafe in 1988, with great outdoor seating facing the ocean. From the beginning, the News, provided its local clientele a variety of newspapers and magazines. The music was carefully selected and programmed to match the moods of the day and night. Evolving out of an 8 seat ice cream parlor and through many expansions, the tradition continues today, with over 350 seats and serving thousands everyday. The News Cafe has won the 'Best Outdoor Cafe' award for the past 9 years.
