The Wolfsonian–Florida International University is a design museum in the heart of the Art Deco District in Miami Beach. It holds an extraordinary collection of modern art and design from the mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries. The vast collection is comprised of graphic, industrial, and architectural design, furniture and decorative arts, paintings and sculpture, prints, drawings, and photographs, rare books and periodicals, and printed ephemera.
Whether drawn from The Wolfsonian collection or on loan from prominent institutions worldwide, the exhibition program explores the active role design plays in motivating actions, expressing ideas, creating desires, and shaping identities. The museum’s Dynamo Museum Shop and Café is a stylish venue for dining and shopping; enjoy a meal and browse the museum’s exclusive line of merchandise, from attractive giftware to an impressive selection of books on design, architecture, history, and banned literature. A free guided tour is available on Friday at 6:00 pm.
