Don’t miss the chance to ride the Beast. Visitors rave about this high-speed, high-energy “sightseeing” speedboat ride around New York City’s harbor and the Hudson River (How fast is it? Blink and you might miss the sights!) Equipped with two 2,600 horsepower engines, and 90 speakers, this is a loud, whirlwind of a ride that you’ll never forget.
Do you have the courage to board the Beast? New York City’s Circle Line Sightseeing at 42nd Street brings you the rare opportunity to embark on a real thrill ride, right in the waters off Manhattan. Your captain will take you on a high-speed, 30-minute ride through the city’s world-famous harbor, past iconic sights like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, all while treating you to a roller coaster of a boat ride that is guaranteed to get your heart pounding and bring you to the edge.
The Beast, Manhattan’s fastest and largest speedboat, is “awakened” between October and May of each year (due to temperatures, it is not in operation during the winter season). During this high season, the cruise operates between 10:00am and 6:00pm, with a special schedule operating on July 4th. Please note that passengers must be at least 40” or 100cm tall to ride the Beast, and expectant mothers are not allowed on board. This cruise does not operate when it rains, due to high speeds….while getting a little wet may be expected, no one wants you to go home drenched, cold and miserable!
This impressively-large boat (70 feet long, to be precise) truly is a beast, with sharp teeth, scary green eyes, and rocket speeds that would send even the fastest great white shark swimming off in shame. The Beast has become something of a New York icon—recognizable from a distance for its shark-like appearance, and the boatloads of screaming passengers it regularly whips past such monuments as Ellis Island and the Seaport. The Beast reaches speeds of up to 40 knots, or 45 miles per hour, and blasts over waves, while also blasting high-energy music, comedy, and info about the NYC sights on its high-tech sound system.
This tour includes a close-up stop at the Statue of Liberty, where passengers can take advantage of a photo opportunity. Don’t forget your camera and your sense of adventure!
Present your pass at any Circle Line ticket window and receive a voucher. It is not necessary to select a time or date when you receive your voucher. Cruise vouchers are valid for any date and time within 1 year. Please bring your voucher to the ticket window and exchange it for a boarding pass. Allow yourself 45 minutes for ample ticketing and boarding time.

When choosing one of the cruises, definitely go for the speedboat ride! In just 30 minutes you will have your heart racing, see some amazing views of Manhattan and the islands (including the Statue of Liberty) and you may even get a little wet! Brilliant trip and so much fun! You also get to skip the long line for the cruise too which makes this the perfect start to a morning or end to a long day of visiting central Manhattan!

Gave this as a gift to my husband. It was everything it promised to be, fast, thrilling, you get a little wet depending on where you sit and if you're not a fan of 80's music at high volumes this might not be for you. But it was a lot of fun, a great way to see the city and cool down from the heat! Be warned if you're someone who isn't a fan of rollercoasters this might be too much for you but if you like fast pace turns, an entertaining guide and the water, you'll love it!
