New York City is a wonderful place to enjoy Mother Nature and see the great outdoors. Come again? Yes, that’s right. While NYC seems like a total concrete jungle, there are actually some very beautiful and natural sights to behold in this historic city and Bike and Roll Tours allows you to do that in a carbon-neutral way!

Breathe in the fresh air and skip that cab ride. Don’t even think about taking the subway- you’ll miss so much! Instead opt for the Bike and Roll Tour of the Brooklyn Bridge and Hudson River. This three-hour tour of the most iconic landmarks along the river will not only send you home with some great photographic memories of the sites you wanted to visit, but will also give you a great workout, so you won’t have to feel guilty about all those hot dogs in Central Park you devoured earlier!

Bike and Roll: Brooklyn Bridge and Hudson River Bike Tour lets you pedal on a traffic-free bike lane that winds along the Hudson River, giving you an up-close look at this beautiful river that traverses the length of Manhattan. Your tour guide will take you over the Brooklyn Bridge, which was the largest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its completion. From your vantage point atop the bridge, you will have a magnificent view of Hudson River Park; Battery Park- a beautiful recreation area overlooking the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, located at the southernmost tip of Manhattan; the South Street Seaport, the departure point for many New York Harbor ferries; and all of Lower Manhattan!

This particular Bike and Roll tour is not recommended for children under twelve years of age, due to its classification as “moderate” in level of physical exertion. Don’t worry though, you need not be Lance Armstrong to participate. As long as you are comfortable biking at a moderately fast pace with reasonable time for breaks over a period of three hours, you should not encounter any difficulties on this tour.

Tours depart from Pier 84 during the months of April-October, and all riders will be issued a helmet to wear in order to comply with New York City traffic laws. Enjoy the ride!

A MUST for anyone who wants to get a bit of exercise, learn about the history and see the sites! I had an awesome guide who made everyone feel comfortable, made sure no one was lost or left behind. Stopped for photos and even helped me take a few! I wanted to do the Central Park tour too but ran out of time and sunny weather.

I really loved biking the Greenway alongside the Hudson River. The views were gorgeous and I really never thought of New York having these kind of views. It was so cool to get up on the Brooklyn Bridge, it's like a whole different world up there. I really felt like this tour rounded out my New York trip.
