Spanning four picturesque acres on the banks of the Hudson River, the Cloisters Museum and Gardens is one of New York City’s best artistic treasures. A branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated exclusively to the art and architecture of Medieval Europe, the Cloisters features extensive collections of painting, sculpture, tapestry and other textiles, historic artifacts, and even medieval armor.
The Cloisters are also renowned for their unique design; modeled after medieval French cloisters, these stunning buildings truly evoke the Middle Ages for visitors roaming their halls. They even have a number of enclosed gardens, featuring plants and cultivation techniques common in medieval Europe.
This fascinating institution is a long time member of the Met family of museums, and is a must-see for art lovers. Visit all three for a comprehensive portrait of their artistic vision!
Full Suggested Admission is $25.00 per adult. If you were to buy a museum ticket at the museum ticket counter instead of using your pass for admission, the amount you would pay would be up to you. Children under 12 receive free admission, so a child pass will not need to be scanned for admission.
Ticket includes same-day admission to The Met Fifth Avenue, The Met Breuer, and The Met Cloisters.
