Learn how a group of visionary New Yorkers transformed a collection of horse stables into the world famous Times Square theater district. Seen through the eyes of the original Yankee Doodle Dandy, you will visit legendary theaters such as the New Amsterdam, the Imperial, and the Palace.

Born in 1878, Cohan was an entertainer, playwright, composer, lyricist, actor, singer, dancer and producer. Known as ‘the man who owned Broadway’ in the decade before World War I, he is said to be the father of the American musical comedy. The song ‘The Yankee Doodle Boy’ (also known as ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’), was Cohan’s trademark piece.
