National 9/11 Memorial and Museum with Hop on Hop off Water Taxi

This dual-action ticket gives you access to the 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan. You will also enjoy New York City Water Taxi access to a variety of hotspots around the city, hopping on and off as you please at a variety of designated stops.

New York Water Taxi (NYWT) brings you the opportunity to see one of the city’s most moving monuments, and to remember the victims of one of America’s greatest tragedies. While tickets to the 9/11 Memorial are free, all visitors must have a reservation to enter, and reservation slots are difficult to come by. This top water transportation provider has partnered with the 9/11 Memorial and has pre-reserved timeslots to offer those visitors using their Hop-On/Hop-Off Water Taxi pass. Visitors will be able to witness the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, including the construction of 1 World Trade Center—soon to be the tallest building in the United States.

This timed visitor pass will let NYWT passengers plan their trip to the 9/11 Memorial at select times and in coordination with the Hop-On/Hop-Off trips departing from Pier 84. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 220-8950 and are available at the following times:

The National September 11 Memorial, or 9/11 Memorial as it is more commonly called, pays tribute to the nearly 3,000 people who were tragically killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at not only the World Trade Center; but also at the Pentagon, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the World Trade Center bombing that occurred in 1993. The 9/11 Memorial features poignantly arranged twin-reflecting pools of nearly an acre in size, and also is home to one of the largest manmade waterfalls on the continent. In remembrance of the victims, the name of every person killed in the attacks is inscribed onto a bronze panel edging the Memorial pools. The design for the 9/11 Memorial was selected from a global design competition that included more than 5,200 entries from 63 nations, and the results are both impressive and sobering.

In addition to bringing you access to this brand new and eloquent New York memorial site, the New York Water Taxi pass also provides convenient transportation to many other top spots of the city “a la carte” style -- meaning you can hop on or off at any of the designated points along the NYWT route. Other sites you won’t want to miss include the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Broadway, the Financial District, South Street Seaport, DUMBO, the Brooklyn Bridge, Governors Island, the National Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, and more.

Comments about Smart Destinations :

This was a great way to see the Memorial. At first I wondered why I was taking a water taxi from Midtown to go Downtown but it turned out great. We were able to skip the subway ride and instead grabbed the water taxi. We got to see great views of the city on the way downtown. The Memorial was about a 10 minute walk from the last Taxi stop. It was amazing. Really felt so lucky to have seen it.
